Charles brings broad international experience to his role as General Manager of WaveBox, a boutique consulting firm specialising in strategic HR management, organisational development and change management.

Charles van Heerden
Not only has he been in senior line and HR management roles, but he has also worked for several years as a senior consultant. Charles was most recently General Manager People and Culture for WCB for two years. Prior to that he was General Manager Human Resources at Feltex for seven years. As General Manager for Change Management International, he managed various change projects and teams, including the transition process for a New Zealand Top 40 company in the energy industry.
His experience includes services (consulting, information technology and research), heavy industry (mining, engineering), FMCG (dairy, beer and carpets), working with medium and large-scale organisational change, including acquisitions and mergers.
As a seasoned consultant, he has developed various HR systems, including a strategic change model and developing capability within organisations.
Charles holds degrees in Psychology and Industrial Relations, with postgraduate studies in Change Management. He has published several articles on Strategic HR and has been a speaker at various international conferences. He was co-writer of a chapter on Pay in a book on Understanding and Implementation of Performance Management.
He is a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute, as well as the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand. Born in South Africa, Charles lived in New Zealand for a decade, before moving to Melbourne eight years ago.
